Some users do not like the stock lock screen on their Android phones. It’s simply a matter of taste, style, and whether or not you enjoy rings or puzzles. Thankfully, those discontent with their lock screens have a variety of replacement options, some of which require root and some that don’t.

XDA Senior Member rori~ has developed a non-root lock screen replacement called CyanX Lock. Currently, the app is in beta testing and, as the developer says:
deliberate expiring date, because I´m fully aware of problems and don’t want this early version to have a long lasting presence on the net.
Requirements: Android 2.2 and up
Don’t be surprised if the app suddenly stops working for you–it was intentional. The application also has quite a few fun features, including:
standalone lock widget, unlock options, gestures, sense, sensor, custom backgrounds, colors, size, sounds,…
So pretty much everything you’d want in a lock screen plus a little extra, which is never a bad thing. The app is being consistently updated as well, so it won’t be long before those pesky bugs are gone and it is officially released.
